You asked for opinions so here's mine--To me apes look like they don't fit behind a fairing. The shape of the batwing fairing is designed to cover the hands and hand grips. To add apes and bring the hands above the fairing looks odd and asymetrical to me. It makes it look like the fairing shouldn't be there. I'm with Dickey on this one.

I think WO 578s or HD mini apes are fine, but do agree that apes that are materially higher than the fairing just don't look right...

I'm havin a hard time deciding on whether I like them on a bagger also.I don't hate but just can't deciced. I gotta do something other than the stock bars on my Limited if I do it it will be 12's or 10's to stay at or just below the fairing.I will say they are comfy I've had them on every non bagger bike I've had, just not sure if I like the look

I have 13" Cycle Smith's on my 2010 FLHX with a C & C custom seat. They are just even with the batwing. I also have Rinehart true duals with stage 1 kit Screaming Eagle Racing Tuner....

10" Yaffe's here as well. I didn't do the poly bushings - I don't notice any differences with vibration or squishy feeling. I think that is mainly for 12 and higher with the added leverage. If in doubt though, add em.

View of 12" from the front. Hands do get a little more wind, but not much more.

And I'm not really sure they look good on anything?? They may be more comfortable for some but they sure don't help with bike control. Anyway just my opinion, I do have 16" apes on my road king and don't hate them enough to take off, do what ya want.
