Easy pull clutch?
I have a 2001 rk and right now I'm using a friends 2006 flhx. Wow, when did Harley go to this easier to pull clutch, and what can I do to make mine like that?
Look in the parts catalog for the reduced effort clutch kit. It became stock in 2006.
Need to pull the primary cover and right side transmission cover to install. Best to get new gaskets for each while you pick up the kit.
And of course transmission and primary oils will be required too.

Not sure on the year perhaps 06??? Harley makes a kit and so do a few others. Its a different ramp device where the clutch cable ties in under the cover on the side of the transmission. Do a search here or on google "Harley EZ Pull Clutch".
I agree, my friends 07 is so much easier then my 99 RK. Plus mine has the single cylider caliper brakes.
However, I figure I can use some "Popeye arms" to impress the little lady so I'm leaving them as is.

the white brothers easy boy lite clutch used to cost $26 and takes 20 minutes to install --- more if the header has to come off.
now sold under the burly brand- ( who took over some of the white brothers stuff when they went under)
here is my tip:
ONCE the trap door bolts are loosened slightly,
roll your tires up on a 2 x 4, and put the bike on the jiffy stand-- ensure that it is stable- get a Pal to balance for you if needed...
you can then pull the trap door without dumping fluid all over the floor, about a tablespoon will leak out.
when putting the trap door back on, the new torque spec for the bolts is 25 ft lbs
this kit was a common mod back to late 80's.

That being said. I did a little looking around and the kits are cheap. Might be a good winter project. Or the next time I change fluids.
I don't think it was standard equipment on 06 bikes, my 06 was pretty stiff, put the hydraulic clutch on mine, my friends 07 is still easier to pull than my hydraulic. If I had to do it again I would look at the Magura hdyra unit, it works in conjunction with the OEM manual throw out, maybe that and the ez pull together.
