Today UPS delivered a really nice C&C Fastback leather seat for my Road King. It has been modified to set the rider 2" back from their orginal setting they use on the Fastback. I am 6'2" with a 34" inseam and seem to always be uncomfortable on the boards. Only comfortable on the highway pegs. I put the seat on and sat on the bike in the garage. Man, I feel like I have all sorts of leg room with me feet on the boards. The feel of the seat cushion wise felt nice, too. My handlebars have enough rise and pullback that my arms still felt comfortable. I am going to really see how the seat feels on a ride tomorrow
When I went there to check out their seat, I believe they told me my Brawler was 2" back and 2" lower than stock. Love my seat!
That is what I heard, plus this seat is another 2" back. I can't believe the difference in my dual tour Corbin to this C&C. My legs feel so much better when my feet are on the boards. I don't feel like I am on the tank and my legs are fully extended when I put my feet on the highway pegs.
The Corbin already is a little further back from stock, but the new seat is so much better. Anyone who is over 6' with long legs and tired of feeling cramped, I would recommend going this route. I have the extended controls and extended floor board kit, but that was never enough. If you have stock or beach bars, I would imagine you would have to lean forward to reach the bars. If you have a set that have some pull back, I would see no problem.
Did you have them modify a c&c you already have or was this a new purchase?
It was a new purchase. I bought it from a guy who tried it twice and was too short. He claims he messed up on the order form. He sent the seat with the receipt and paper work to me this past week. He paid $410 and a regular plain leather Fastback is $370. C&C charges a fee for modification I assume, but to me it seems worth it.
You can order a Fastback with a backrest option, but this one does not have the backrest socket mount. I think C&C would have a limit they can mod the seat if the backrest bracket they put in their seat was there. I have a backrest with my Corbin, but I don't know if I will be able to go back to the Corbin when I need a backrest because of the difference of the two seating positions.
