Default Amber Auxillary Lights

I am new to this board, and brand new to the touring class bikes. Just traded in a Heritage Classic for an Ultra that I am picking up in a month (or so depending on the snow here in Michigan). I have seenthem mentioned a couple times on this board and have seen it once on a bike (really stood out) as it came up behind me. Question is -- where mightI find the amber/yellow auxillary lights? Thanks in advance!

If you are talking about the Spots on the Touring line, check your local state regs about Amber/Yellow running lights. Her in VA they are illegal I understand.

You could if you choose opt to get H3 replacement units and substitute colored H3 bulbs. Adjure makes H3 4" units and they are available on line from most vendors.

There are a few ways you can go. Moco and JP Cycles sell Amber Bulb Assemblies(amber/yellow glass with clear H3's) or you can replace your exisiting clear H3's with Hella or PIAA Yellow Ion H3's. Another solution and what I use are Auxillary covers by Cee Baileys. Amber lexan covers that attach to your exisiting lens with clear velcro dots. They are removable and protect the lens from chips and cracks. To me Amber really makes the scoot "stand out" in the day time.

Thanks for the ideas everyone! Good point on the state regs -- I better check.
Take care.

You can get amber sealed beams from NAPA. I have a buddy that runs them. He is a cop in Virgina, so I don't know about that illegal part FLGEEZ was talking about.I don't believe they are illegal. You can buy amber fog lights to put on a car.

Grousehunter,
I am from MI also and not sure about the laws, but have been running yellow spot lamps for about three years. Never had a problem from the law about them. If I ever get a ticket for them I will fight it as a safety issue. " But Judge, apparently they got the officers attention so they may save my butt from getting run over"

I will check into the yellow/amber issue, but I think it has to do with the height above the ground. Jacked up trucks are wreaking havoc with bumper and light regs.

Stop by an Inspection station tomorrow. i really don't like spreading bad poop and should have checked first. Don't see many in North VA and maybe there is one reason. Professional courtesy aside, just because you see one on the road don't mean you not breaking some dumbazz reg.
