Building an 07 Electra Glide Classic...
My riding consists of mostly 2up in town and over the mountains. My goal is to build an engine with lots of torque down low (2000-4500 rpm) I almost never shift above 4500 rpm although I did wind it out too 5000 the other day just to say I did. My goals are 100+ ft/lbs of torque and 95+ horsepower. I have purchased HD kit #29903-07a to upgrade my 96" to a 103". I have also purchased a pair of CVO255 cams as well as a pair of cylinder heads part #17192-06B Front and 17193-06A Rear. The heads are off a 103" and set up for ACR's. My exhaust is stock with a pair of SE slip-ons. I like the look of the Samson "Hell Raisers" but can't find any feedback on how well they work. Any recommendations would be appreciated. What about head porting? My thoughts are that in lower rpm ranges it would not be cost effective, but I have encountered many different opinions. Also, camshaft choice seems to be an issue. I like SE parts but lots of folk are recommending either Andrews or Woods cams. The Woods 222 looks like it has a nice Dyno sheet, but no one else seems to have the low end grunt of the 255's. Any input would be appreciated. Remember, I am not trying to build a drag bike. Just want crisp throttle response down low.
