Default Driving by knucles - another handlebar thread

All summer long on my rides I find the most comfortable position for me is with just my fingers laying on top of the bars with the first joint slightly past the apex at the top of the bars. I guess this would equate to needing to pullback about another 3" to be comfortable and maybe 3" higher would be ok too. I like the angle and width of my stock RK bars so I don't really want the wheel barrow or beach bars.

From being on this forum for the past few months I know the majority of the people that post on here are going to come back and tell me 16" apes but I don't want to go there and do not like that look with the windshield on. When I take trips I like to use the windshield. My thoughts have been the 10" mini apes but would consider the 12.5" ape, just because everyone here always says go 1 notch higher then what you think. Interesting though I have never read anyone saying they went to high!

Another bar I don't like the looks of is one of the Heritage bars. Not sure which it is but it appears to bend/angle back just above the tree when looking at it from the side. I like the look of the bars following the line of the forks.

What are peoples thoughts and suggestions?

I had exactly the same situation because I put a TallBoy seat on to accomodate my long legs. The easy answer was Heritage Style bars which have 3" more pull back--perfect.

I have a set of WO515 mini apes for sale in the classifieds cheap. They were great but for me, the 14" WOs I installed are much better...If you go 10s, you can keep the stock cable and brake line...That is the main reason I tried them to begin with...
