Leaking shock '11 RGU... just one, or replace both?
Everything forward was bone dry, then realized the left shock boot was wet.
Called the dealership, they've already ordered a replacement from a sister dealership. Said to bring it on in, and they'll replace it under warranty.
That's the good news....
I've got a question for the suspension gurus out there.
The bike has 21.5k miles on it.
Is it unreasonable to ask that they replace both shocks?
Would there be a significant difference in a "miss matched" pair?
Just concerned that the extension/rebound differences between the two could cause swingarm (and/or bushing) issues.
Could it affect control? One side "firmer" than the other?
I mean.... ya don't just replace one side of brake pad set.
I do all my own maintenance, but must say.... I've been really pleased with my dealership. They've figgered out that they can't BS this BS'er. Good group of guys here in North Georgia. (Cartersville HD)
One day, I plan on replacing with Ohlins from Howards. Not ready for that kinda coin just yet.
What do the suspension gurus say?
Thanks,
Beav
