Preciate it fellas to Hawg and Mike, yeah I have 4 disc in lower back that are screwed and from pushing myself and going so long w/ it messed up, the vertebrae are now damaged....as in a simple laminectomy w/ a 3 month recovery time turned into being sliced open pretty good and them removing bone fragments and scar tissue w/ a 1 yr to complete recovery and a future sugery in about 5 yrs. I felt pretty good riding it from the dealer which is about a 30 min ride so I'm gonna stick with that for now and slowly push it longer. Thanks for the input on the seats and back rests. I remember seeing a thread on rebuilt seats a while ago so I'm going to do some searching and see if I can find it again.

I have to say, to all those that told me I wouldn't regret getting rid of the Deluxe....you're absolutely right. The seat and suspension is so much better on the RK! I'm technically not supposed to be riding yet according to my back surgeon but I can do short rides for the next motnh or two. I'm def going to be putting 16" Wild1's for lower back comfort and have a few other things in mind down the road such as exhaust, a/c, and tune. Anyone know of a good place to get a seat modified with the gel pad and such? My surgeon rides and he says that will help me alot. I'm done babbling for now but I can officially say I'm back on 2 and can enjoy the freedom again!
Welcome...I have a good friend in Adamsville, Al *just above Birmingham* that has a leather shop *Redline Leather Works. that does great work and is local erm... well not so local to you....but in the state that does all kinds of modifications ; adding gel, stitching, reshaping, and so on. His name is Ben. His facebook page is here http://www.facebook.com/redlineleatherworkz2010

Drop him a line and tell him Wayne told you to look him up. You won't be disappointed

Welcome back. I expect you'll be sitting on it in the garage a lot while your back heals.
