Finally took the plunge
Picked up a '12 Road King in Vivid Black Monday! I had a deposit on a RKC but backed out after doing some more research and looking at funds. This one already has a chrome fork kit and it has the profile laced spoke wheels. Got a decent deal so I'm happy! I have to say, to all those that told me I wouldn't regret getting rid of the Deluxe....you're absolutely right. The seat and suspension is so much better on the RK! I'm technically not supposed to be riding yet according to my back surgeon but I can do short rides for the next motnh or two. I'm def going to be putting 16" Wild1's for lower back comfort and have a few other things in mind down the road such as exhaust, a/c, and tune. Anyone know of a good place to get a seat modified with the gel pad and such? My surgeon rides and he says that will help me alot. I'm done babbling for now but I can officially say I'm back on 2 and can enjoy the freedom again!

Welcome back to riding! I had shoulder surgery and didn't ask for permission to ride, I knew better than the Dr. when I was ready.Was just careful about where I parked so I wouldn't have trouble turning around.(short legs) Been back riding for 1 month, best theraphy I've had!!

Congratulations. As far as your back, have you considered a riders backrest? I have a bad back and my Mustang seat with backrest keeps me comfortable. There are gel pads available as well or you can go with a C&C rebuild.
