I've heard many recommend this. I was about to try this mysel. Ended up getting them out with an extractor kit instead though. Had three screws give me a hard time. For one the splines on the T-27 twisted and a new T27 got it out. For the other two I used the extractor kit. Put cap screws (allen head) in from Home Depot. NOT going through THAT again!

I took off the primary cover with the idea of work far from the bike to protect the paint, I was thinking in heat up, but Im worry about the chrome.

1.) Try the punch method.
2.) Try the Dremel slot method.
3.) Try drilling the head off.
4.) Do Not heat.

Actually the easiest and safest thing to do is Drill the head off like previously suggested, use a 13/64" drill bit.

ok - but you needn't worry. The best way to deal with the problem is to select the correct size drill bit, make sure it's shark (may as well buy a new one) and drill off the hear. Remove all the other bolts. The "bad" bolt will come out easily at that point as there is no tension in the bolt shaft. A pair of pliars (locking ideally) will work well although you may be lucky enough to remove it with your fingers!

It will turn the chrome yellow/blue.
Just drill the bolt head out......the bolt is bad anyway.

Yes, but if you started with a T-25 you might want to try a T-27 with an impact driver first. It might bite. After that, proceed as suggested above.
