Default Lower or not to lower RK?

Thinking about lowering my roadking by one inch. Does this one inch make a noticable difference in appearance? I really like the look of slammed bikes, and just dont know if it is worth the effort for only an inch? Any recommendations on kits (white bros., progressive, etc.)? Do it yourself? Thank you.

I'd only lower it if you needed to. For example, not being able to flat foot at red lights or parked. Lowering it by one inch is barely noticeable by eye. I've dropped my rear two inches and on the last inch drop.. I am now starting to just barely see a difference. Not worth it unless needed.

I dropped one of my bikes 3.25" before and it was pretty slammed. I would ocassionally scrape the frame on turns. I eventually went back to stock height. In my opinion you would barely be able to see a 1" drop.

Last time at the dealer they had a StreetGlide next to a Standard. It seemed noticably lower. I realize the seat is lower and it has that extn at the rear fender, but you could tell it was lower.

I am kinda in the same boat I love the looks of lowered bagger, just not sure if I want to the trade off of scraping when in the twistys. I love the way a RK handles and can flat foot when stopped.

I'm going to lower the front Fender height on my RG which will give me the slammed look without lowering the bike. I got the Idea from Kustomcycles. They won the biker build off with a RG. My front fender was hit while the bike was parked in the city. Figured I’d replace it with something custom.

Check out the pic of one of their lower front fenders.

I lowered my 2004 road king 1" all around and yes I feel like there is not that much differance, you can go lower using blocks on the rear but that is when it starts effecting the ride, at 1" it rides the same

Scraping on turns will definitely be a problem.

I lowered my standard 1-1/4" using SoLow's bracket. Excellent machining and fit. You can definitely notice the difference, especially when next to another RK. Iweigh 185, and usually ride solo. I have not experienced any problems with bottoming out or scraping floorboards. I love the balance and the way the bike handles and would not go back. I have heard negative comments about losing the comfortable ride when going to a shorter shock. You will occasionally hear the same complaint from Streetglide owner, especially two-up.
