I have a 09 ultra classic, Called the dealer today to see how much to replace the dunlop 407 rear with another one, almost dropped the phone when I heard 425.00$ !! OMG what are they makin tires out of today!!Are there a good replacement tire for the 180 that would be a good fit for my rim and that would be a long life tire for touring,no darksides please!!Thanks Eric
check another dealer. thats too high. i had the front and back replaced on my 2010, and it ran $650 for both, which i thought was outrageous myself, but we were on our way out of town on a road trip. the bitch was they had just stopped their $1.00 per tire install special 3 weeks prior.
if you can't find a decent price from the dealer, check out the dunlop american elite, or michelin commander IIs (admittedly, thats coming from the dealer again). both of those tires have received high praise.
I just bought a front and a rear tire from jake Wilson total for both shipped to my door $313.00 theses tires are American elite don't let the stealership take you for a ride you can do much much better.
I just had mounted new Michelin's. Ordered them thru my indy shop. Total and mounting for both front and rear 402.00. They are claiming the new Michelin's will get 20,000 on rear tire. We will see but I do like em. Grip really well in twisties. Buying and mounting Dunlops has always ran me more than 500.00 when replacing both front and rear. Just rear with Dunlops has always been over 300.00.

I hope the commander ll's are better than the commanders on the rear. I'm getting good mileage but it is squirly in hard cornering and wet roads. Squirley enough to scare me a couple of times.
I think the Night Dragons are designed for medium weight bikes. Dressers will wear them out.
What about American Elites? If they're the same as the Dunlop E 3's that I run on my older bike, you can't go wrong.
Ill do some more lookin on that, I know there showing a electra glide in there picture for there advertisment. Does or has anyone ran the night dragons before on an ultra? I see they say cruiser but show a touring bike Ill get the weight range specs to take a closer look! Thanks guys for the info! Yah I have a good indy dealer, just sucks that you can only get the 407s at the harley shop and nowere else!!
just replaced rear on my 11 SG local indy shop $189.00 $35.00 install Michelin commander 2 ,to soon to tell on longevity ,so far the wet has been no problem handling wise
