I have an American Elite on the back of my 09 Ultra and I'm very pleased with it. It's too early to tell if it'll last longer than the 407 (11,500 miles) but so far so good. It has now around 5K miles and there's a lot of tread left.
I bought it from Jake Wilson last fall. They were the cheapest back then.
My indy installed it and balanced it and he also installed an angled valve on the rim. Cost me $60.
I brought the bike, not the wheel.

Chapparel Motor Sports

Michelin Commander II, 180x65b16, $166.88 shipped. Dealership here wants $100 more for the same tire. And Michelin is covered by the HD tire/wheel warranty, if you have that.

I replaced my rear 407R at 17k and my front 408F at 21K with American Elites from Jake Wilson.com I now have 30K on the bike and loving the AE's. Jake Wilson and Dennis Kirk are great to order from. I just prefer Jake Wilson. JMO

had a michelin commander II installed on the rear by my indy. total costs about $300. My previous dunlop lasted for over 11K miles and it still was well within legal safety limits on tread depth.

[quote=Stiggy;10311521]Time for you to get familiar with Dennis Kirk, Motorcycle Super Store and Jake Wilson to get your tires.

Don't overlook revzilla. They will price match and I ordered my Am Elite rear on a Wed. morning and had it Thurs. afternoon. Free shipping as well.

+1. Ordered same tire for the same price from Chaparral back in May. Great tire, great price, painless ordering and prompt delivery.
