Default need advice for new seat please...

Hello, I'm in the market for a seat. Been wanting to upgrade for a while from stock, just so happen the plastic cracked last night, where the brace attatches to rear of seat. I'm 6ft and 300lbs which seat would you suggest, and where can I get it? Really want something by Friday...

Motorcycle seats are like mattress's, recliners, women....everyone likes something else...

Your size, a Road Zipplin would be great, but I don't think it would look good on a SG...maybe a Sundowner? Hammock? A lot of the dealers now have a demo program, you can try them out first....might be your best bet...
a lot like Corbin, Mustang, Saddleman road sofa's, not all butts are alike...

I would suggest against the Road Zep. It actually raises you up and forward a bit. At 6' tall, you would be better off going down and back.

It does all depend on personal preference. IMHO, it all comes down to one thing: Hard or soft. I was 270lbs when I went to a harder seat, and found it less confortable at first, but much more comfortable on a longer ride. The padding doesnt break down on long rides, and you never get that itchy burning butt....

Some people like soft. Itchy burn doesnt bother them, and some people get like the cushy tush seats to pad the butt bone.

Best softer seat: Mustang
Best harder seat: C&C (Corbin was too hard for me)

From what I have experienced... lighter weight riders usually are happier on softer seats, while heavier riders are happier on harder seats (not at first.... but do a few hundred miles straight on each and tell me what you think).

If you do go demo one, it's useless to only ride a few miles. You won't really know how it will feel on a long trip until you ride 300+ miles straight. I bought a used memory foam seat after a short test ride. It was so comfy for the first 100 miles..... but after that it was misery. I sold it the next week and bought a C&C.

The bad part about this, we can suggest 10 different seats, and none of them mite not be right for you. I suggest trying different friends seats, go the your local dealer, sometimes they have loner seats to try. Its trial and error. I did my 03 FLHTI seat through Mean City Cycles. I am happy with it. A good way to go without spending a pile of cash.

What he say's. Order straight from Mustang and they might give you 10% off as they have me and you also get a 10 day to return the seat and trade it for another seat they they make which is a great deal in itself. I've had a mustang seat on all my bikes except my heritage and wish I had put one on it.
I just received the new day tripper seat with the diamond pleats which looks awesome. Good luck with your decision but for me it's always Mustang.
