What kinda MPG you guys getting with the 103 and a stg 1. IE air filter, header pipe and slip ons and "tune or cert"?
The reason I ask is Ive just gotten within the last 3 weeks a 13 FLHTK and love it. ( I left behind a 05 FLHTCI with tons of eng work, 95"kit, SE heads, 10.5 pistons SE 203 cams Billet cam plate, V&H staggered Big shots W/baffels and a PC III and tune) and was getting 42-45 even 2-up. I did the heavey breather V&H touring power header and Hi-output slip ons and they supposedly did a tune on it.....Im gettin 38 MPG consistantly after 2k....
just wandering if I can get it retuned for better or thats about it??

Before I did anything, I would get clarity on what a "supposedly did a tune" is. You didn't mention a tuner, are you referring to an ECM flash as a tune? If so, your other bike with the PC III probably had a much better tune.
I've been averaging between 38-40 mpg mixed city/hwy so far, since "completing" the Stage 1. A LOT depends on my right wrist, tho. And for me, I commute in heavy traffic so that has an impact as well (e.g. sitting in traffic then hauling *** around cages in the commuter lanes vs. leisurely rambling along country roads).
My riding Pal with a 2011 FLHTK 103" S/E air cleaner, V&H power duals and M/O's gets the exact MPG I get ( tested over thousands of miles) avg. 43 MPG cruising at 65~70 MPH on 2 lane roads.
he has NO TUNER- bike runs fine.
( I have an 09 96" Ness BS, no cat header, tuned Nightsticks and XIEDS, same speed, same MPG)

Wel I originally was gonna ask for input from only people that had the stock ECM....then I figured that that doesnt always work out.
The stealership supposedly re-mapped my ECM...but we all know how that works out. Since it still has the O2 sensors it should adjust itself for that but......??
12 limited with fuel moto pro billet intake, catless headers from an 09 sg, Vance and Hines twin slash ovals, and a power commander with a map from Jamie at fuel moto and i average 38 mpg.
have all the same as you do on my 11 SG but only did the stage 1 flash and consistantly get between 45-48 mpg riding at 75-85 mph.
I eecked out a 40 MPG single tank of fuel 2-up hwy only @ 70-75...but like I said I only have 2k on it so far..

See thats why I was askiing Im thinking like Frog13 said If I go with a tuner and get it dyno'd that way I can prob get a good 2-3 better MPG....but I dont want to void the warrenty just yet.....the ink is still wet on the sales contract...lol
2012 FLHTK, AN Big Sucker, V&H MR's, stock header pipes decatted, PCV w/AT. 38 around town, 43 on the road at 70-80 mph, in Oklahoma.
Where do you get yours serviced at and do they have a problem with the PCV? And did you stick with the stock head pipe since you had have them cut and welded on?
