This weekend I'm removing the tank on my 2006 Street Glide to inspect the wires going to my fuel injectors due to a hesitation issue I've been trying to track down. Is there any other maintanence items I should do/consider while I have the tank off. I don't plan on doing this more than once so I'd like to take care of what I can while it is off. Thanks.

Isnt there an internal filter in the tank? If so I'd do that.

I may be wrong but I believe if there was an electrical problem to the lifters it would set a code and light your check engine light. Ok maybe thats why you are removing the tank.

 

I meant the injectors (not lifters)

 

The critical fasteners atop the motor are easiest to get to and check when the tank is off.

Check the upper engine mount(one of the critical fasteners).
