Default Ape height question

I'm trying to decide between 14" & 16 apes for my 2012 Road King Classic. I'm interested in your thoughts and/or advise. I'll figure out what style of bars later, but for now I'm recall interested in your thoughts on how high I should go.

I'm 6'3 225 and not afraid to have the grips at shoulder level.

Most of the advice I've seen (and I agree) is to go 2 inches higher than you think you should. So atleast 16"

Go Pack!

If you're 6'3" I'd say 16 for sure. I'm 5'10" and I have 14's, perfect for my height.

I'd go with the 16's. I am 6'3" and 14's are below my shoulders. I have ridden with both, and the 16's definitely feel better to me.

I'm 5'9" and have 16" on my heritage, they put my hands slightly above my shoulders. At your height I would say definitely go 16" if not higher. I had mama go out in the garage and help measure for me while I had my hands up about where I wanted them. Another option is to mock some up with PVC to see what you like.

At least 16", but realistically you could go 18". SJ Ron

Great advise all. I think 16's are the way to go. Now what kind...or is that a different threat?
