My 05 road king has 20,000 miles and there is a squeak coming from the primary. For lack of a better explanation it goes. Speak........squeak........squeak. Any speed. Doesn't matter if clutch in or out.
Sounds to me like your primary chain may be too tight. Do you have an aftermarket self adjusting chain tightening?
Might even be the compensator is worn, or loose.
If you can get a mechanic's stethoscope you may be able to pin it down by the loudest location the sound is coming from. Although the whole motor resonates sounds that may be coming from a location farther away.
Ok. thanks for the input. I'm gonna look into it today. I just started like a mounth ago but then went away after a day or two and now is back and started like a week ago. I looked at the drive belt when it started again but I didn't see any sign of rubbing but I'll check it all again. Thanks everyone.
Before you do anything else, spray your rubber muffler mounts under your saddlebags with silicone spray to eliminate the possibility of that troublesome spot. If they are dry, the squeak they make will travel up your exhaust and you'll swear it's coming from the engine.

That would be the first place I would look at too.
