I'm writing this because I believe when a vendor treats a customer right it should be noted just as much as when they don't. Back in 2002 when I bought my Road Glide I ordered a set of the Ride Tek Lid Haulers and the Lid Saks to go with them Main reason being I had a 4 year old step daughter whose legs didn't reach the footboards. On my Heritage I had the saddlebag crash bars and she put her feet on those; with the Road Glide that was going to scratch up the lids. The lid covers have served me well over the 10+ years, both using the Lid Saks for extra storage and protecting the bag lids from my step daughter's and also my now 10 year old daughter's feet. This past spring when I went to clean up the bike (I ride year round but don't clean it in the winter) the adhesive on a couple pieces of the velcro gave up the ghost. I went to Lowes and bought some extra heavy duty, yada yada, velcro tape and replaced all of the original with new. First time I washed the bike this summer (late June/early July) the tape came off of the lids when I removed the covers.
I checked Ride Tek's web site to see if the tape could be ordered with no luck. So I sent them an email explaining what I wrote above and asked them if I could buy the tape strips they supply with the lid covers. I received a reply that a set of the tape was in the mail; no charge. I received the package about a week later. For a company to do that on a product they sold 10 years ago deserves a thumbs up in my book, so I'm giving them one.
