Well I lowered my 2006 SG 1" front and 1" on the rear.
Not meaning to interrupt the focus on the seat question, but could you PM me with what you went with to lower front and rear on your SG - and how happy you are with the results? Thanks!

I went with the HD part 54628-06 front lowering kit in the front on the rear I went with the bolt on adjustable kit from eBay. I am very happy with the results still have a nice ride and plenty of road clearance while lowering the whole bike evenly. I must warn you however do not lower the rear beyond the 1" setting or your tire will rub. Also make sure you move your rear wiring harness under the rear fender to the right so the wires do not rub the tire.

Thanks for the info! Wow - sounds like it might be pushing it a bit for 2-up riding, though?
Most dealers know someone local that can rework seats. Stop by ask them. No real need to mail it off to some place.
Not rocket science and only one shop in the country can do it. I live in a rural are and 3 with in a reasonable drive from here
Corbin. They will build a seat any way you you want it. Not cheap but I have had 4 and they have all been great. I have one that is 21 years old and is still in great condition. 6-700 mile days 2up with no issues. I think their customer service in Daytona is excellent...Hollister is so-so.
