I've always stored mine at hime with a trickle charge and a breathable cover. Having said that, if I could get a storage deal like some of you guys have I would take it to the dealer for the winter. Every dealer around here wants about $450 for storage.
My garage is heated although at minimum (mid 40s) when I'm not working out there. Wash, Stabil in the tank, on the battery tender with a breathable cover and up on my MC/ATV lift out of the way. This usually doesn't get done until I know for sure riding season is over.
For those with tight space If you put the bike on a good jack it can be moved right up against a wall and save a lot of room. You can roll it into a spot you normally would not be able to put it. I use to store mine on the jack against the back wall.
Good ones with lock will have no problem with the bike in the air all winter.
What do ya'll mean by winter storage ? I'm confused. Don't you ride it? Just kidding but we southerners can (and I do) ride ours all winter. And we can golf all winter if we want.
Just messing with ya'll.
You said it before I could. I have mine stored at the dealership when I'm overseas for free. When I'm home, it's on the road no matter what time of the year it is.
In the garage with the race car winterized, will pull it out on a decent day for a ride, we get a mixed bag here in Virginia, can be 60 or 70 one day and 20 the next.
I have free heated storage , its in a building right next door to my office so I can head over and take a look anytime I like. The bike gets elevated just enough to take the weight off the wheels, covered with a breathable cover and a tender on the battery.
Me too. Shorter daylight hours means the inevitable is going to happen and last until March or there about. Then there is the (wonderful seasonal affective disorder) to contend with sort of like the movie " the shining "
