Winter storage? WTF is that? Unless the roads are wet/slick/snow covered, it's always riding season. Leathers and heated gear is for keeping you mangina comfortable during the winter, so whats the excuse not to ride?

Cold never stops me even well below zero. But ice and snow tend to be a dride stopper. But not all of the time
wife took this as I was leaving one day

After playing "sliding puzzle game" with my two stall garage today, I think I've found a way to put my SUV, the wife's full size car, a fridge, a stand-up freezer, the mower, the snowblower, two shelving units, a tool rack, the garbage can, the recycle can, AND my Road Glide all in the garage without endangering anything.

However, I am considering splurging on a J & S jack to gain several inches of clearance for the bike again the wall. If anyone has thoughts on using one for winter storage I'd love to hear them. Seems like an impressive piece of equipment, even if you have to pay for it.

Then once I get home I fog the intake, plug in my battery tender and call er done.
I've seen this referenced a couple of times in this thread. What is it and how do you do it?

Thanks for the info on condensation. I'll have to have the dealer clairfy the starting/running issue.

Stays at home, with me on a battery tender. Not a good idea to start it up and run once a week unless you are going to ride it and get it good and toasty....LOL. I like to keep it readily available for a ride , cold or not.

I have plenty enough room in my garage to physcially store my bikes, but my problem is that I cannot get them far enough from the cars on each side to avoid the nasty, salty, slush splash from hitting them when it falls off the bottom of the cars in the winter. Even with the covers on them it still gets on the very bottom of the tires and rims.

And I sure can't get my wife to get out of the car in the driveway in the crappy weather and knock it all off her car with her nice shoes before she pulls in.....

May use the dealer this winter.

I clean my bike carefully, put some fuel preservative in the tank, hook up the tender, give her a kiss then put the cover over her in her place of honor in my garage. When it comes time for me to take the first ride of the season, I want it on *MY* schedule, not when the dealer feels damn good and ready to schedule my wake up!!

There's no way in hell I believe they will start 300 bikes in storage.

[quote=Iceman24;10366323]Here's where my ride sits over winter hibernation...FREE.

Well, I do pay for the electricity to run the tender,

yep mine sits up on its lift, covered and battery tender plugged in, in a heated garage in front of my truck so every day i see it and say dam i cant wait for spring to get here !
