Have a 2012 Road Glide Custom, rinehart slipons, PVC and S&S AC. Jackpot head pipe on order. Ride occasional two up and to work in traffic. Spend most of my time in the 2000 to 3500 rpm range. Want to stay with the 103 as my base and build from there. Don't see where going to the 107 just for four more CUs is worth it. Wondering if porting the heads might be the better move. Leaning toward TW-222 cam once I've seen more data on it. Looking for good TQ numbers over Hp!
I know everybody cuts on the SE 255s but..to me....right where you want the most grunt for cruising (especially two up) is about where they make the power.... I like them anyway. There are plenty of cams (haven't seen a dyno run on the 222s) that make more hp or might have higher torque( but where is it in the rpm range?).. .but I want mine about where these are working.

Just for devils advocacy here, the TW-222 on a Stock 103 makes higher TQ at lower RPM than the 255. Sure it peaks out a bit later, but very similar at where the 255 peaks. [edit: correction, its higher than the 255s at 3K where the 255s peak] Thoughts?
I have a 103 with a 510 cam, pretty much stock heads and pushing 111/116 ish the numbers are in my sig. Pulls from 2500 to red line. No CR's, no issues in 39k miles, still on original battery and starter, has been run hard in 100+++ temperatures. 43+ mpg. IMO The 255's lead to hot start issues, just look up all the threads on the issue.
that's the first dyno sheet I've seen on the 222s they look pretty good!! Those just might be a better cam....
Biggest reason I did the 255s is keeping the warranty and I knew they torqued pretty good from my old bike..... now if I wasn't worried about keeping the warranty... I might look into the 222s now.......
and I definitely wish I would have had them clean up the ports some... that would have helped me a little... just don't know if it would have been enough to warrant the extra cost.
(edit) it looks like about the only difference in that set up in the dyno sheet and mine is the 2-1-2 headers (not sure how much gain there is in that over the true duals I have) and I don't know what size baffles the Jackpot mufflers come with. I know I lost a touch of torque on the lower end with the 2.25 over the 2" that I had on my old bike..( it doesn't have the snap as hard when you nail the gas, but it's smoother on transition from coast to throttle.) So there could be a little gain there over mine too, maybe so, maybe not..... but even if the 222 bike had the same pipes, it looks like it would probably still put out more.

They did on the old bikes..... I had the hot start problem with my 07 SG... pretty much fixed that with the SE compensator.. (well, 95% anyway)
The 2012 bikes don't have those problems with them
I have a set of SE 255's siting in the garage I thought I would be putting in my 12 RG, but the new Woods 222's may have me spending a little more coin come cam change time. If I didn't already have the 255's, I wouldn't even have to think about it and I'd go 222's!

Do you have a dyno chart you can post? I'd love to see what the 510s do in a 103. Are you refering to the S&S510 cams?
