Loud ticking after header install ????

When I first put my fuel moto head pipe I tightened up the bolts at the head no leaks. After riding it once or twice and heat cycling it started leaking a little, (ticking sound at the engine). I torqued them down again and it pushed a little deeper into the gaskets no leak since.

Personally, I think its more likely that you have a minor leak right at the head / header connection. I seriously doubt a crack in the pipe. Are you using Screaming Eagle or Harley stock conical gaskets?

Yes sir, if your air cleaner is also a new Stage 1 you will hear more noise as well! It does sound like a tick, you are right. lol

What kind of air filter did you put on ? I put a big sucker with the stock cover and I heard all kinds of noises sounded like lifters could not figure it out till one day I took the cover of and went for a ride no more noises the stock cover during open is like a Mega phone
