Default Wtf

2012 EGC, 675 miles. 2010 ECU Limited 10k miles. My classic shifts from neutral to first like silk about half the time and the other half like I didn't even use the clutch. Changed both tranys oil to redline shockproof and both primarys to formula+ and installed in both the hayden chain tensioner. Only drove them a few miles but no noticable difference. I think I'll add this to the worst thing you bought thread.

What kind of change were you expecting?

Try rolling your bike a foot or so with the clutch in before starting. It needs to be in gear though to reduce friction in the plates.

sounds like it might be a sticky clutch issue.........you may laugh....but try running automatic tranmission fluid in the primary........I've done it on some friends bikes that had more miles but....basically same problem....and yes ATF will lubricate it just fine...

I think a lot of it is that it is brand new...give it 10k miles and report back.
I switched to redline and noticed a slight improvement but not what I was hoping. At least finding neutral is super easy.

Sorry, I guess I misread what the OP was saying, I also agree it may take a few miles for the new fluids to make a difference.

Been running ATF for about 20K miles so I know it's ok.

When I bought my '02 back in 2005 it had 10,000 miles on it. I immediately drained the oils as the clutch was not acting right. It also shifted rough (rougher than the regular "clunk"). I put the redline power pack in it.

After about 500 miles the clutch was acting perfectly. The "clunk" shift got better sooner. The point is give it a few miles for the new fluids to clean out the old junk and work their way into the components.

You're using the right fluids, just give them a few miles. After that, if you don't see improvement, you may need some mechanical adjustments.

Good luck.

I'll have a couple thousand miles on them in a few days and will give an update. I hope it gets better. Theres nothing wrong with the clutch I don't think. The wifes limited is worse than mine. The parts guy at the dealership said he had never heard of any clunking in the transmission.Or whining in the primary. Must just be mine. Neither bike has a whine in the primary. The chains were not overly tight from the auto tensioner.
