The parts guy at the dealership said he had never heard of any clunking in the transmission.Or whining in the primary. Must just be mine. Neither bike has a whine in the primary. The chains were not overly tight from the auto tensioner.
One of the first things you need to remember is that 99% of the parts people either
1) arent smart enough to be a mechanic ( Im not bashing parts people, just my observation over the past 20yrs for HD dealer parts help)I know some parts people that are smarter than the mech's at the dealership they work at......
2) Have know Idea what the HELL thay are talking about.
And this is based on my sole experance...I once had a dealer part man (swore he was a mech just arthritis prevented him from still doing it) tell me My 05 FLSTCI had the eng idle temp mgmt system......
After a long look I finally found a 100% synthetic oil, Motul 7100 4T 20W50 Engine Oil and gotta say it has made a world of difference from the HD sludge I was running.
More power, quieter running (now it sounds like a sewing machine!) and in the gear box is where it shines with smoother running and shifting, lots better.
