Default New Begining

Hey everyone I am new to the Harley scene. I traded my 2005 CBR 1000 for a 2013 Street Glide. I have already begun starting to accessorize it. I picked up an Arlen Ness Big Sucker intake and was wondering what does everyone prefer for exhaust and if I should get a fuel pack or just a power commander. Also, is it necessary to get the bike remapped after just changing out the intake?

What exhaust should I get. Thanks for the input. See you all on the road!

exhaust is personal , first you need to decide if you like a 2-1 look or you want dual mufflers like a true dual or 2-1-2 system , then people can help you , welcome and good luck

Welcome and congrats!!!

A tuner is highly recommended when going to a hi-flow intake. And it is kinda piointless to do intake without exhaust. Gotta let out what it is breathing in. Don't waste your money on a dealer flash. Just get a good tuner. If you just plan to do basic Stage 1 grab yourself a Dynojet Micro Tuner from Fuel Moto.

Fuel Moto Micro Tuner by Dynojet

If you think you my plan on more explore other options on the Fuel Moto page. Or give them a call. Great guys to work with and they know their stuff.

Exhaust I am not even gonna touch this one. You are gonna get so many opinions on what is better. But it is always opinions. What is good for one is not for another.

Again give Fuel Moto a call. Save the headache. Tell them what your goals are and they can guide you in the right direction.

get over to one of the dealer BBQ's or the Pavilions on a Sat evening.

you can hear some different bikes and figure out what exhaust you like best

keep in mind that we have emissions testing, so you can shoot your self in the foot by doing some kind of "awesome mod" you read about on the internet- and have the MVD fail you and have to now restore to a compliant condition

and that Carefree can be a problem with noise tickets on the way to cave creek.

there are compliant high performance or adjustable systems which will allow you to proceed trouble free.

the made by supertrapp screaming eagle nightstick and fatshots are both easily adjusted.

tuners run a whole range in complexity and cost from $100 to 1000.

I use the $100 nightrider.com xieds...and on smog test day, i just unplug them- takes 1 minute

Welcome to Harley's and the forums!.....Fuel Moto, Fullsac, Vance&Hines, Rinehart, Cobra are just to name a few on exhaust....Personally I run a Cobra headpipe with Vance&Hines Twin Slash Monster Rounds, love the rumble that it has!....Like the other poster stated, exhaust is going to be what kind of sound you want and prefer, loud or quiet or maybe something in between.

Is it possible to remove baffles in stock exhaust in order to get the flow for a cheap mod in the meantime?
