So I am tossing around the possible purchase of a 2013 RG CVO Custom in Anniversary colors to replace my 09 SG that I am having marital issues with (With the bike as I prefer Harleys to Wives... - fell out of love with it on a long 21 day ride last July and we are still working on reconciliation!!!)... can't seem to find the pin to pull yet to make the purchase for the CVO but have a question if anyone can answer it... I believe I already know it but anyway...
If I want to get a Color Matched King Tour-Pack for it (at $1500!!!) so I can do detachable mounting what should I expect to come with the pack directly from HD?
Will I need everything else as this is only the shell and will need hinges, latches, locks, and backrest for it?? Or is this complete as in the photo on the HD link:
I've looked into getting Sporty hard bags and they come complete ready to use. As that link spells out, you will also need the rack of your choice. Be aware that colour matched items can take a few weeks to come through as an accessory. I'm not sure if that will also apply when buying it with a new bike.

Being a CVO color scheme, for the $1500.00, you get the tourpak, stock hinges and rubber mat.
To give you an idea, I have deluxe hinges, matching keyed lock, boom speaker pods, side LED's lights, mounting hardware, 4 pt mounting bracket, inside liner, top liner, airwing rack, airwing LED running/brake light and ultra style wiring harness.
All this came in shy of $3,000.00 RETAIL price. If you shop around for dealer discounts on internet or if your local dealers do "big discounts. you can get it much cheaper.
when i bought my tour pak a couple of years ago the lock, and back rest were sold separately even though they are shown in the photo. double check with the dealer, then look online for discounts.
Lakeshore has it for $1250 with free shipping. Best to check all discount suppliers & compare, some are cheaper on one item than another.
thier will be $50. flat shipping on a tour pak no matter where you get it, any over size item at LSHD. One of the few items I got somewhere else, Surdyke matched the 20%, but also had a free wash bucket offer with a purchase over xxx amount in the spring. same cost on pak but $35. bucket for $6.00 or so.
If you are pulling the trigger on a new bike they will work with you and make sure You get it all. The funny thing is that they treat them as accessories so your bike will get here before the Tour Pack does. They need a Vin# before any CVO accessories can be ordered. Average wait time is 6-12 weeks after your bike gets here. I used the delay to put my first thousand on the bike then took it for first service, pipes, tuner, and Tour Pack. Then you pickup a totally different bike! For the better. Hope this helps.
I got mine from Jon @ Horney Toad in Texas in December 2011. About a grand. Came with the color matched shell, standard chrome hinges (I do not know what the big deal about the standard hinges is. They work okay for me.), inside rubber mat and vinyl envelope. The grand also included a keyed alike lock and the back rest. I picked up a new looking removable rack for my 4 point docing hardware (already on the bike) for about a hundred bucks off of Craigslist. When the parts arrived from Horney Toad I had to install the back rest and lock into the factory pre-drilled locations, mount it to the rack, and connect it to the 4 point docking hardware. The hinges and latches were factory installed. I had a cast on one hand and so my wife helped me. It took about 30 minutes to assemble and install.
I did not get a luggage rack for the top, lights, antennas, or other options.
In your search I would suggest you contact Jon @ Horney Toad (jon@horneytoadHD.com)
