Color Difference
What is the difference between th Pacific Blue Pearl and the Pacific Blue Denim? I've never seen the the Pearl. I can only assume it is the same thing as the denim just has the gloss clear coat vs the denim clear. Thanks for the help as always.
I do not see a denim version of this color in the 2008 lineup... It is a 2008 color I believe as I did not see it in later years... nice color by the way in its clear version...
I tried inserting an html table with the 2008 colors in here but the message board has disabled this feature... what a pain...
Anyway... Normally, there would be different formulation that go under denim clears....
Pacific Blue Pearl - 98609 CGP
Hope this helps...

The word "pearl" refers to the sheen of the paint, not its color.
Sheen is the degree of light reflectivity associated with a painted or varnished surface.
The degree of a paint's sheen is due to the amount of crystalline silica suspended in the paint.
A higher gloss sheen has virtually no silica, while a matte sheen has significant amounts.
A pearl sheen has a moderate amount of silica.

If your assumption is that the pearl is a glossy clear coat and the denim is not so glossy, that is correct

Pearl: This paint type uses small flakes of mica, a synthetic material that resembles the sheen of a natural pearl. The mica particles are also the same in size and mixed with the base paint. This clear has a glossy characteristic to it and reflects light at a higher rate.
Matte: Simply put is a base coat with clear, it’s actually the clear coat that makes factory matte paint look flat with its microscopic imperfections and “dimples” and thusly doesn't reflect like the above.
