"Those peak numbers are great! I'm probably gonna get some heat for saying this, but those peak numbers are similar to maineultraclassic's numbers."
[sm=badbadbad.gif] "HEAT" Nice chart with the stock heads, Allen!
[sm=badbadbad.gif][sm=badbadbad.gif] "HEAT x 2!" Stock heads and stock compression ~ not even .030 gaskets!

"Peak" is good, but the real beauty is that it's strong all the way across.

Dennis ~ "Speed Secret"..... I broke those cams in, in my engine 1st! [8D] Also, I held the camera and snapped pics while allen built it. As has been said, a gazillion times, "It's all about using matched components". Those cams are "designed" for usewith stock flowing heads and @ stock CR.

BTW - Allen.... I enjoyed riding it @ practice Sunday, but now that it's tuned, I wanna take it for a whirl on the road!

Charlie - to an extent, yes, the dip @ 3500 is inherrent to the pipe design, BUT what is also inherrent is the fact that it rises very early (RPMwise) and stays high for a long time. The magnitude of the dip depends on the build, but the "general" shape of the torque curve is a characteristic of the pipe. Personally, with my riding style, I can not feel it on the road, but I CAN feel the PULL that's there anytime I twist'r up!
I do realize that, but I didn't have the two dyno sheets in front of me to check the torque curves on both.

You Texas boys know how to modify them (including Bryan TTM)[:@]

Allen... more than likely, with a SuperTapp, yours would probably have "peaked" over 100ft/lbs but it would have been lower than what ya have in normal riding/cruising RPM range. .... & wasn't one of wifey's criteria that the pipe need to sound like a Harley?

It's awesome with stock heads - you haven't even had them polished? The impressive thing is that it's got power from down low all the way to high rpm...

Hey Phil,

Would this setup benefit with ported heads and a little higher CR? or would you recommend a different cam at that point?

This is very close to what I want to acheive with my bike.

Good Job Allen

Karl

Hey Karl....

There are certainly serveral schools of thought on this exact question. FWIW, in my opinion, these cams are best suited for stock flowing heads and stock compression.

Let me offer three examples of builds w/stock heads & compression:
1) Allen 90/96
2) Gary (Harris48cars) 85/103
3) Ed (PipeDADDY) 82/98

All three of those have dyno sheets in the dyno thread.

Here's my example from my bike (same set of cams we installed in Allens bike) w/BB heads @ 9.25:1. It was 91/94
Steve's bike shows the potential for very nice results with headwork and compression, as it looks VERY good @ 90/98

.... but, how much different is 90/98 vs. 90/96 except maybe $500?

Again, just MY OPINION.... what you may (or may NOT) get from the added $$$ & time for headwork and increased compression is NOT worth while for these cams. Furthermore, if you run stock compression ratio (ESPICALLY in the south ~ TX) you should have no risk of building a ping machine, which is certainly a possibility as you start increasing compression with these cams.

Nine11C2 ~ those are stock heads. We did not even worry about cleaning all the existing carbon out, as it just builds right back up anyway....

Man, I have to get down to Sabin Performance for a dyno run...............that dyno puts out some nice numbers.

It's impossible to compare dyno numbers/charts unless they are run on the same exact dyno on the same day, back to back. After learning that, I just use them as a reference for what a build could produce, or a range to expect.

Nice build Allen.............enjoy it.

Steve
