Sounds as if you blew the USB because the polarity was incorrect. Verify/correct the polarity buy new USB charger and I'll bet all will be well in the world again. If not I lose my 2 cents, sorry.

Good luck!
Harley doesn't care about wiring the lighter with proper polarity. Seems to be a crap shoot if it's right???? I only blew the fuse in the adapter.
Yeah, I'm def. thinking its the USB, but its actually good to hear that those can get messed up, I have 2 that aren't working and at $25/pop it's a fun game. Just texted my guy and see what he says. Worst case ill drop her off Monday
Eazy way to check, get a 12v test light, hook the ground to something on the engine(headbolt-ect) and check the center pin on the cig lighter, should light up, if not check the outside barrel of the cig lighter, if the light lights up it is reversed, if nothing you got a blown fuze, if it lights up in the middle it's wired up correctly and your problem is phone/charger.
I bet its several things. They reversed the wiring when the apes were put on. Not sure why the fuse blew though... Next the reversed polarity blew up the USB adapter. Next it blew up the 2nd usb adapter.
You said you checked the polarity - was it right or did you switch it?
Get a new USB adapter. Verify it in your car first. Next check the cig plug on the bike using the test light posted above. If its swapped, fix it. Then check out the new USB plug in the bike...

You got it right. A simple 12V test light will tell you if the socket is wired correctly. Make sure you use a good chassis ground.
