The more you guys post about "MY" Road King, the more it hurts to have to wait for it. I will be sitting in the garage with wax and rag in hand waiting for the RK to show up! I keep saying it will not be that long before it gets here, but the fact is I have to wait for sometime in December. My luck is the "END" of December!!!!

Welcome to the club. Add a 4 point docking system, and you have a bunch of options for touring attachments. Best part is, they come off in seconds.

Absolutely! Don't forget to buy the little "chrome magnetic covers" for the dock spindles as well.

That will be my first action with the bike. I want to add the docking system so I can add and remove items.

Please tell me where I go to find the magnetic covers? I cannot find them anywhere on the HD site.

Maybe you can put these on your Christmas list!

Rear Docking Hardware Cover Kit
Disguise the rear docking hardware with these easy-to-install covers. The caps slide over the exposed docking points, and are held in place by a strong magnetic pull. The caps are easy to remove when you wish to reinstall detachable accessories. Covers are available with brilliant chrome or durable gloss black finish to match your bike's attitude. Sold in pairs.*

This product is available in multiple variations. Be sure to look for the one that fits the specific model and year of your motorcycle.
48035-09 Small Chrome (pair)

Fits many accessory docking hardware kits.*

MSRP US $29.95

This pic is my FLHT with one of the covers off. IMO it does look a little "cleaner" with the covers.

Yes, the HD part number for the cover 48035-09. Confirm to be certain though.

I believe my 09 uses the same Docking Hardware as your 2013 will. It's an easy 15 minute bolt on install. Mine pictured is the 4 point version which independently allows the attachment of the backrest (clicks on the front spool) and luggage rack (clicks on rear spool).

Finally found it using the part number. Got it added to the Wish List.
Many thanks for that.
