Decatted the stock headpipe on my street glide. Now to choose a good set of slip on's. I want a deep and louder sound. Anyone who removed their cat, what slip on's are you running?
2011 Limited Ultra. Got rid of the cat with Vance & Hines Power Duals. Running Vance & Hines High Output slip-ons with them. Nice deep, throaty rumble, but Rush Big Louie with the 2.5 baffle was louder. The High Outputs are a little more rumbly, but the Big Louie's weren't too loud for me. Big Louie's probably the best bang for the buck. (By the way, get ready for a hundred different suggestions on pipes!)
I would reccomend if you want a deep sound use CFR slipons or Rush Big Louie. Both are great exhaust, CFR would be the loudest out of the 2, and Rush would be the best price. Best to go down to the dealer and hear some for yourself on a bike night. But just remember the exhaust might not sound exactly the same on different bikes.

Instead of chasing the sound I was after with so many different pipes and headers, I wish I would have just worked on a mild build for my motor. The sound is amazing with many of the exhausts out there with a nice tuned motor. I liked my CFRs after a cam install and they really sound good with dual headers rather than stock.
Why does everyone use 1 out of 3 names these days?
Doesn't anyone run Cycle Shacks anymore? I luv the sound of my present Cycle Shack STA's. Quiet enough for idling down the block at 5 am and plenty of bark when I twist the throttle.
D&D's also sounded great on my softail.
Everything else, like the SE's on my last FLH....well, sounds like all the rest.
Okay, here's a different name: RCX-Haust, from rccomponents.com. My cat. converter remains in the headpipe and it still sounds pretty darn good with these slip-ons. I have the "slash down" model, so no tip option with these. See sig pic.
