Tried wiring the alarm tonight, black to middle pin and red to signal (brn/gy) and it works fine, except it chirps like a cricket when I disarm the system for about 10 or 20 seconds. Once it stops, turning the ignition on makes it resume and continue to chirp. Bike is a 2002 RK. I am wondering if I got a bad alarm or if my load equalizer has something to do with it? Turn signals act normally at all times. When I get some time to play with it, guess I'll disconnect the load equalizer and see what happens.
I have done this mod on my 2006 SG. When I arm/disarm the security system, it sounds like the cricket you describe. However, when the bike is shaken/disturbed while the system is armed, sounds normal like a alarm tone.
I wouldnt worry about it. It does the same thing to mine if you want to feel better and validate you shortcomings from other users in this forum. You not going to get that loud *** chirp. Maybe you have a loose connection
I also put the R.S. unit in my friends 2012 ultra trike. It seemed ok except when you turn ignition switch to on it goes as if the alarm was triggered. Anyone out there has an idea whats wrong. If so please chime in. Thanks
Do a search on here. I think someone posted an instruction on how to get the alarm to recognize the added buzzer...not sure if you did that part? My Radio shack 5 buck alarm works fine, but a buddy put it on for me.

I have the same problem installing on my 2001 RK. I had actually gone out to start the bike the next morning after I installed it the night before and when I walked up to the bike I heard it making a faint intermittent kind of sound like it had very low voltage going to it. First thing I did was added more stable connections and still had the problem. Using a multimeter there is very low power coming across the brown and green wires when the alarm is disabled. I'm thinking about either a relay or a resistor at this point, OR, just getting the HD alarm. Tagging on to see if there are any suggestions to your (and my) question???
