Default Part No Question

I have a 2010 UC (FLHTCU/I). While travelling this summer I had a guy back into my bike while parked. So Aug 27th my dealer ordered the parts to repair the damage, including a new fender - Part no 59085-04BHY. All the other parts came in a week later but the fender, being a painted part, had to come from the factory. It arrived last week - almost 7 weeks after being ordered! Opened the box and found a Vivid Black fender with the grey pinstripe in the wrong place (top rather than the sides) and "Classic" decaled on the side instead of holes for the "Ultra Classic" chrome nameplate. So the dealer re-looked up the number and now say the one ordered is wrong; they should have ordered 59072-04BHY (One listing had 59072-04BHYHD). Fender reordered. Looks like another 7 week wait!

So I get the two different part nos being for different styles of fenders. And I understand "04" meaning this part has been in production since 2004, although I would have thought a wider fender would have been introduced with the wider front tire in... 2007??? What I don't understand are the letters: BHY/BHYHD. What do they mean? And can anyone (Dawg??) confirm for me that 59072-04BHY will give me a Vivid Black front fender with grey pin striping in the proper place - on the side not the top - and holes in he right places for the chrome nameplate on each side? I'm having a bit of a confidence issue here and want no doubts I'll get he right one this time.

59085-04BHY is for classic FLHTC/I, which should be vivid black and silver striped on the top.59072-04BHY is for ultra classic FLHTCU/I which should be vivid black and striped on side. you should be okay when that one comes in.

Thanks 11RKC. That helps alleviate the apprehension. Still curious about the meaning of BHY. Any idea what the letters mean?

The BHY is a code used in HDs top secret color coding system.

Don't know for sure but I thinks its an inner/outer pinstripe and location code for medium silver/medium silver striping.
