When I got home with my new Electra glide limited, I discovered they had taken the helmet head set out of the tour pack. I called the dealer and he apologized. Told me he would send one to me ASAP.
That was a month ago and several phone calls later I still don't have one.
I have a trip planned to Tennessee the first of Nov and would really like to be able to hear the radio so I call J&M. I asked if I could order a new helmet from ridezilla and have it shipped to them to have the head set installed.
I wanted a white schulburg as my black one while a nice helmet is hot.
They told me no problem, just make sure they put my name on the outside of the box.
I called ridezilla and placed my order, then called J&M and gave them my CC info.
I got a e-mail today saying the helmet was delivered.
Called J&M to make sure there was no confusion and that I got the right cord to connect to my bike.
Fellow got on the phone and told me they were going to send my helmet back to ridezilla. He stated they did not except helmet from dealers. I reminded him that they did, they had mine now.
He huffed up and told me that I made a mistake and they were sending it back, then promptly hung up on me.
After I calmed down a little I called back and asked if they could not just send it to me, they had my CC already and sending it back to Ridezilla was just going to create a mess.
He said he would have to check with the owner and he would call me back in a couple of days.
So I still don't have a head set for my helmet and who knows where the new one will end up.
My question is, what company sells a quality head set that I can buy quick fast and in a hurry
Thanks
Buff
Doode, Sorry bout all that. Call around the other scooter shops to see what they have. If theirs a Cycle Gear store nearby, they stock a couple brands. Scalla Rider and another. Bluetooth setups. Their new offering is supposed to be the sh**! I'd have one but I'm too cheap. (-;
Safe travels on your road trip.
CAll J&M and ask for Karen. Explain that you want to talk to John Lazzeroni.
When I had trouble a couple of years ago with one of their CSR I emailed John L. and he resolved it right away. He also use to monitor this forum so don't hesitate to contact him personally. Good Luck.
Buff58, I'm also on a Limited and have used both the stock headset and a Boom behind the head for half helments. Both work but I'm not impressed with either one and the behind the neck bothers my ears. I'm currently using a J&M Elite in a Vega half helment. Its much better than the Booms but sound quality is not as good as I'd like. I've heard the EdSets have better bass but have not tried one. J&M sells helments with headsets already installed but may not be the helment you like. Two Wheel Sound in Murray, KY carries a lot of J&M stuff in stock including various helments and may be able to help you too.
