Default SE A/C question

I'm doing research on pipes, A/C and race tuner for my 07 RK. I was wonderingcan Ijust change my OEMA/C out to a K&N (about $75.00)or do I need to change out to a stage 1 A/C (about $135.00)? If I just change my mufflers, will I notice any cooler engine or performance difference. I am leaning towards true duals butI need to save $ tomake those changes. One last thing,a personal evaluation:
HD ComfortStitch seat: I am 5'8 and have owned this seat for roughly 4 months and have put 2,000 miles on it. The seatpushes me towards the tank more thanI concider comfortable, almost like sitting on the back of the tank. The seat seems designed well with good stitching for sturdness. Iseat isuncomfortable onridesover 100 miles (in my opinion). Theseat and pillion seat are wide. The width is too much for mu short legs when I am at a stop light.

If anyone has aHD one piece pillow look seat or a Mustang one piece Regal seat, please reply with your opinion of the seats.

my $0.02 is fuelmotousa.com- look at their packages. i got the rush slip-ons, pcIII and k&n air cleaner for around 600. they sent the pcIII pre-programmed with the correct map for my bike's set up. very happy guy here. love the low tone of the pipes. jamie at fuelmoto is very helpful. good luck.

Here's some input based on research I did recently:

1. The folks at V&H told me that the K&N air filter element flows more than the stock element and would suffice as a "high flow" air intake. Running the K&N air filter with stock pipes did not seem to increase engine heat, but also did not provide a noticeable improvement in power or torque.
2. I have the V&H Oval Slip-Ons; running them without a fuel programmer or high flow intake did not help my '07 run cooler. When I ran the pipes with the K&N filter, the engine ran noticeably hotter due to increased air flow that leaned out the mixture even more than stock.

rob.. I'm in the same process,,, you can change out your stock filter element with K&N #E-3014
keep your stock A/C assb'y.. Im going to drill holes in my stock backing plate, filter is $50
this set up will be close to a stage 1
now,, we def'y need to get more fuel to the bike, thus PC111,or whatever
hope this helps

The ness big sucker is only like 89 bucks or 110 with the chrome back plate.
It includes the improved oil re-routing passages in the back plate and a K&N filter I do believe.
No need to build an AC kit yourself ya know.

As Pastor John said, if you install a high-flow AC without doing anything else, you will further lean out the mixture and make the bike run even hotter. Definitely call Jamie at www.fuelmotousa.com ... he can set you up with the proper maps and have your RK running like it should run (before the EPA morons started protecting us from ourselves).

I agree with you as far as the seat. The stock one was pretty uncomfortable after a couple hours of riding. Changed mine out for the HD Tallboy.
