I don't think there is much difference in ride between the progressives and Harley adjustables. They are both better than stock and not as good as Olines.
It all depends on how much you weigh. I tried the NEW progressive 444 13" on my ultra and road on them for only a week before selling for the HD premium hand adjustable shocks. I weigh 175 and with the tour pak off (and on even) the ride was way to hard riding solo. I wouldn't be worried about the one side damping one side rebound thing since the bike is very sturdy. I've had the HD now for a month and love them
spend the big bucks and get the ohlins...the wife will love you for it.
Not that big a difference between the Ohlins, HD, and Progressives price-wise depending on which one you get. I believe the HDs are around $500 and the Progressives are right around that range or more depending on the model. I just got my Ohlins from their vendor booth at Biketoberfest last week for $600 installed and OTD. What a difference!
Just put on progressive Heavy Duty 412's on my 2011 Ultra and Huge differance I was told the 412 and 444 were the same just the 444 were easyer to adjust the helper spring. Im 300#s and they work great! 200.00 online installed in 5 Mins
