I have a stock CD radio on my 03 RG. During CD play, the unit stops playing for a few minutes (no sound) and then some music and then it stops again. This goes on until I switch tracks. I am using CD-R discs. I also have "cleaned" the laser reader with the appropriate disc. Anyone ever run into this problem? Could it be the CD or unit itself?
I have an 06' Streetglide and have had the same problem with CD's. Never used one that is not storebought. The CD will stop for a few seconds then restart from the point where it stopped. Not for a few minutes though! I found it annoying enough to hook up an MP3 player. The CD stopping has nothing to do with going over bumps or being stopped. Others have also had the problem.
Try a store bought cd. If you have problems, it is a hardware issue. Then try burning your own cd at a slower burn rate. It makes a difference on the newer radios. If it is still malfunctioning, start listening to Rap music. It won't make it function better, but you will be happier when it cuts out.
Thx for the info. I use Memorex, any suggestions on a better cd? i also talked to RadioSound who makes the HD radio. They said it was probably a CD issue, but if not, they would b happy to look at it (For a fee...$135...). I haven't tried the CD on my PC. Good suggestion.
