Default CD Problem

I posted this in the Touring section, but received no replies. Maybe someone out in this section may have some suggestions. I have a stock CD radio on my 03 RG. During CD play, the unit stops playing for a few minutes (no sound) and then some music and then it stops again. This goes on until I switch tracks. I am using CD-R discs. I also have "cleaned" the laser reader with the appropriate disc. Anyone ever run into this problem? Could it be the CD or unit itself? I talked to RadioSound and they said it may be the CDs.

Thx in advance!

Does it happen on another player, such as home, etc.?

Many tomes this is related to poor recording bitrate. Then when the CD unit needs to read ahead due to road or engine vibration, it can't because the burned quality is too low. I would ask if it occurrs with CD's purchased from the store - they have much more data on them. If it doesn't, or occurrs much more infrequently, there is your answser - you need to record at a higher bitrate.

Thx for the info. Will follow up accordingly! Currently I'm burning on Memorex CD-Rs, any suggestions on a better CD-R?

I can only tell you that I have had problems with memorex CDs and DVDs. Try SONY or MAXELL for a change.
