I would think you might have a problem even with the center stand. I'm guessing it's your left foot and that's the foot you have to apply pressure and weight to. Hope it heals better for ya.
I have the EZ-up center stand on my Ultra. I have to stand up on it to get the bike on it. Others I know with Ultras have an easier time with their EZ-up. What I like is that I can ride off of it, but you have to be careful where you park. There was one gas station where I used it and needed a push to get it off the stand because the area under the stand was high in relation to the area under the rear tire.
I installed a Wheel Dock on my 2011 Road Glide Ultra about a month ago. I'm impressed with it. It requires very little effort put the bike on the stand and I can easily ride off of the stand. However, as others have written, you will need to use your left foot to engage the stand, and if there are any irregularities with the ground surface where you park, it may require even greater foot pressure to get it onto the stand.
A center stand could really help you if you use it right. Sounds like you may have trouble getting it on the stand initially, so I would suggest using the jiffy stand...get off the bike....put it up on the center stand from beside the bike using right foot (real easy). The Wheeldock stand will allow you and passenger to get on and then ride it right off the stand. Good Luck
I have a display stand on my old Glide, which is very easy to use. The feet are very wide apart and it folds up under the front foot boards, being mounted at the front of the engine. I don't know if they are available for later bikes, but that would be better than a centre stand IMHO. You can see it in my sigpic.
It works fantastic for me ... They don't recommend using it to load up with a passenger but I've not any issues whatsoever ... The display stand is/can be operated from the seat if you are on a slight incline by just pressing it down with your left foot and letting the bike roll back while giving it a little help
Ok so by this being your only post since signing up in 07! then saying its been awhile since you've been on here I guess you know we're gonna have to bust your chops........seriously you didn't even introduce yourself then almost six years later you ask for advice.......dude seriously
