well my Ultra has all the signs of the comp going out , checked with my dealer about upgrading to the SE comp and just pay the difference , I have ESP , any way he said no problem but the difference is like $130 , is it worth it ? are they really that good , have 3 more years of ESP left so not worried bout it going out again but dont want it to leave me on the road eather , looking for opinions
All the indications are that yes it is, to the point all 2011+ bikes come standard with em. Until they redesign that area of the power house to something modern the newer SE is the only solution.

agreed....The SE one is the one that the stock one should have been made like.....in the first place...
hard to believe to MoCo is still replacing bad compensators with another one they know will go bad! IMO, they should replace bad ones with the SE at no extra charge!

Since the stock comp 40296-06A is obsolete and they cannot get them anymore and the only choice is the SE as a replacement, ask them how they plan on making you pay the difference? It's a gimmick, trust me. I just told my bud this when they pulled the same **** on him.....he ended up getting his for free. The stock comp assembly retailed for $118. The SE retails for $249.95, but costs the dealer $174.95 so if they are asking you to pay $130 then it only costs them $44.95. Do the math, they're screwing you.
