Thumbs up Uh-Huh!

It's something we live with, with our Harleys.....

Brand new Street Glide, less than 3,000 miles.....

Every screw hole on the frame, there for no apparent reason, nothing attaches to them or screws into them.......... is rusting........

Not funny.

I have to swab each of them out with WD-40 after every wash to keep them from rusting further.

Inner portions of brake discs rusting......

WTF!!!!!!

I also own BMW motorcycles..... No rusting there, no where, no how......

But......

I LOVE that Damned Street Glide!!!!!!

It IS all kinds of COOL!!!!!!!

I would say my BMW's are utilitarian, fast, precise, well-built, smooth, and are worth every dollar-

The Harley becomes the equal of it's purchase price over time.....

It's a Karma thing, Kismet, Zeitgeist.......

Yes, I've had a little wine tonight.....

My first light did the same thing, you could see light coming straight up thru the chrome. Pointed it out to my dealer and they replaced it free of charge, I installed the first one. If your within 90 days of purchase I would get them to replace it. Maybe if HD has to replace enough of them they might improve them. Or at least cut the fishead rations to the little chinese guys that make them.

I made the same mistake a month ago & your right,it is a pain in the azz to put on.1st.when I took it out of the pkg.it had some grease or something on the corner so I took some chrome cleaner to clean it not snapping about it being plastic......scratched the sh*t out of it.Knew there was no chance to them taking it back now. After installing it there was a crack between it & the fender so I start messing with it & the whole top of it came off in my hand. Now I'm really pissed,so I clean off the exist crap they had holding it together & put some new glue to put the top back on.Major PITA.Solid frickin junk.

Default It could be worse

Remember going look a Honda VTX 1100 before buying my first Harley. Was having trouble justifying spending 10K for a toy (Dyna Super Glide). Sat on the Honda in the shop, really cool looking bike, put the kickstand up an it went "clack" instead of the familiar metal thumk. Reached down and tapped the engine sidecase...Plastic!...I look at the salesman and asked"plastic ENGINE parts"? His reply was it would be much cheaper to repair if I laid it down....Said no thanks, went to Harley shop and spent the 10K. Had no trouble spending the money on Street Glide 2 yrs later.
