If you drill out your cats, the stock headers are really pretty efficient. Zero cost.

Do you have to cut pipes or is there another way to remove the cat?

You can buy an already decatted pipe on web for around $150, or take yours off, and drill out the cat material from where the slip-on's attach.
Search on this forum for illustrated instructions.

I have the same set up as you except 3/12" slipons. I just gutted the cat and used the factory head pipe.

If you look at the Dyno charts on Fuel Moto's page, there is a comparison between a Jackpot head pipe and a stock '09 (no cat in the '09), and there is only 2 hp difference in power. 2 hp would not even be noticed while riding and a gutted cat is near free, compared to near 500 for a head pipe.
