That's some good advice there. Gives you a solid base to build on.
I felt the same with mine at 50K... that is when i decided cams would be the trick...i was gonna do it anyway so i went for it. Although i did it all myself i did it all for about $350.00 i just checked the compression and it was fine... After 25000 with the cams i still feel satisfied with the extra oomph! it gave me...i am not ready to rebuild yet..i still have another year left on my ESP so i will leave it alone because the ESP won't cover " A little tired diagnosis" ... So for $350.00 it was my fix.
I am not slamming or denying any of the advice given here... all good advice...
If i had to do it over again i would do the same thing, maybe with a different set ofcams though...
To the OP, good luck and i hope you find the extra Oomph! you are looking for. I hope it's not to serious.
I'm going to guess they'll be blackened which will show a lean condition due to an intake leak. It's a common issue and would decline it's power under heavier loads.
If not, the compression test to check for worn out rings may answer your concern.
they'll be blackened which will show a lean condition
If they are blackened, it is showing a RICH condition. Lean will be white or light gray.
How did I get that wrong? Good catch. I need to go get some fresh air and put my flashers in, and then take a nice cold, chilly ride today. Need to flush out the cobwebs.
