I'm about to go with a buddy to check out a 2008 103 Screaming Eagle Street Glide. Bike looks to be in great shape in the pictures, some nice upgrades and has abut 20k miles on it.
Is there anything in particular you recommend I look at when checking this bike out? Beyond the obvious where of an almost 5 year old bike, what are some other things I may not be thinking of should I pay close attention to? Any exhaust characteristics, engine noise, tale tell signs I can watch out for to help him out?
Always good input on this board.
Thank you for the help!
Yes, you should ask the owner how he managed to get a 2008 screamin' eagle street glide since they didn't make a 2008 SE Street Glide, and if they did, it would have had a 110CI engine, not the 103.
In other words, the bike isn't a CVO model and that makes it worth the same as any other 2008 Street Glide, plus maybe a little extra since he put a 103 in it over the stock 96. Don't get fooled into thinking its ok to pay thousands more b/c he claims its a SE bike.
I dont even think its worth 16k these days with 20k on it. I have seen 09's with less miles for around 16-16500 and you would get the newer frame. Just my .02
