Default Is this right??

I stopped by a bike shop today and was talking to be of the guys who works there. I asked him if he thought I might be ready for some new tires in the spring. He said probably and then checked my tread. He said it was wearing a little uneven and said one possible problem is that my "fork oil" may need changing....?? Could this be true? He said most people don't change their fork oil nearly enough. I've never really heard anyone take about it. Thoughts??

How old is the bike? How many miles? When was the last time the fork oil was changed?

2006 Road King Classic. About 18000 miles. I'm the second owner so I'm assuming its never been changed. When SHOULD it be changed?

Manual should say 50K. My bike apparently had a bad fork seal, the previous owner replaced it but apparently only drained the one tube so I had old oil in one, newish oil in the other. My indy noticed that and put fresh in both, rode a lot better after that.

It sounds plausible that the guy is saying but I find it hard to believe you're not noticing anything with the way the bike is riding.
