Default Im hooked!!!

I have owned 2 dozen streetbikes, dirtbikes & quads, and 4 sandrails over my short 40 years of life. The last bike I had was an RT BMW. The only thing that I ever did to it was tires, oil and a ton of miles.

I bought my first Harley in September, about 1000 miles ago. The thing is heavy and slow - and it corners like a John Deere Tractor... BUT I LOVE IT!!! I can't stop buying stuff for it. I am seriously addicted it. I find myself talking to it and aways wiping it down. Am I effed-up or what?

Is there an antidote?

The only known antidote is chrome, Crown Royal and a cigar! It may not stop you from buying stuff...but you'll enjoy looking at your ride a whole lot more!!

Congrats, and welcome to the club!

I hav owned more than a few HD's ad several Beemers..
The cost of maintaining the BMW K mods was very expensive. I could not get out of a 6K srvice for inder $600.00
God forbid anything serious goes wrong, like ABS. OUCH.

Well, I'm happy to know I'm not the only one with a "crush" on my own damn Harley! Bought my first Harley bout a month ago and my wife is convinced that maybe I should be sleeping in the garage....next to my bike. Well now that's just.....silly??? If lovin my Harley is wrong, I don't wanna be right!! Enjoy it bro!

I've ridden sport bikes and Beemers. I've ridden your R-bike with the boxer engine. But instead of comparing the HD's cornering to a tractor, you might want to understand that it corners like a Harley. You see, all sport bikes have going for them is speed. They offer the rider nothing else, absolutely nothing. They are built for the track. So that's why everyone with a sport bike is always going fast, cause that's all the sport bike offers. It's got nothing else.

And for all of the amenities and spirit the sport bike lacks, the HD makes it up in ways the sport bike owner could only dream of. Then factor in the soul of the HD, and that's why, my good friend, you are hooked. What, you didn't know your new bike has soul?

I hope to God my wife does not see this thread, and IF there is a cure, keep it to yourself or at least in PMs PLEASE!

My wife bought me my FLHTK because she thought "with all that chrome and luggage...etc, what else could I find to do?" 2 years later she just tells me not to tell her. She once said, "just don't spend so much we have to eat cat food."

I love my girl..........(s).

It won't seem like a tractor once you've gotten used to it. My Ultra felt like a semi when I first got it, I was used to my old Triumph Bonneville and smaller bikes. But now, it feels pretty nimble.

You didn't mention what model you're riding, what is it?

my touring bike handled like a train when it was stock - on rails.

the new frame with the 18/16 set up is rock solid and it is fun to whip it around
