Another LOUD option is Samson's. Everything listed above is a good choice.

Make sure you get a 2 1/2" baffle with whichever muffler.
The baffle size will determine the loudness.
Then take the wrapping off.

I've been running CFR's for years. They're my all time favorite slipon. While many consider them to be loud, to me they are just deap and throaty as hell. They can get quite loud when you're really in the throttle, but aren't obnoxious at idle. On the newer touring bikes you really need to remove the CAT to make them come alive. IMHO nothing sounds better.

Sounds like the CFR's are the way I want to go. Anyone no of a dealer in the Texas area?

Says who? My misses prefers the loud pipes. Everyone is different. I was going to scale back to a fullsac x pipe and 2" cores but mama won't have it. She wants the boss fatcat again.

Hey jj do the knockoffs have the same performance as the originals. That is a huge price difference $650 vs. $200! I have always run the fatcat from D & D but for the first time I actually find that the CFR's are pleasurable as well.

I don't know about the performance, but I know that the quality of the knockoffs don't compare to the real thing. I saw a couple of the knockoffs at Cary's shop a couple months ago and they look like junk compared to real CFR's. Considering the amount of engineering that Cary has put into these mufflers I doubt any fake one will perform as well. You get what you pay for...

Good call. Another reason to buy the real deal is that Cary stands behind his products 100%. I had an orginal set of his slipons. Had them for almost 5 years and on 4 different bikes. I noticed a problem with them putting them on my new RK. I emailed Cary a picture of the problem...and to make a long story short, I now have a brand new set of slipons and didn't have to pay a dime. He's a stand up guy that really cares about customer service.

It's a little restictive:

Fullsac headers will use your stock exhaust shields
exchange yours: http://www.fullsac.com/sportpipe.html
their header: http://www.fullsac.com/x-pipe.html
Gads! Man alive, I had no idea that cat on the head pipe was like that....
I'd replace that with aftermarket in a heart beat.
