Default Progressive suspension

Was looking at getting new rear shocks for my 09 Street Glide sometime in the future but saw that easternperformance.com is having a sale and they are about 150-180 dollars cheaper.

Looking for help from anyone who has progressive shocks. I'm not sure which one to actually get. I was originally looking at the 444 in 12" HD. I weigh around 225 on the heavy end and the wife adds another 150. I ride 2 up about 40% of the time.

Stopped by the HD dealer today and they had the 944s. They explained to me that they were a bit better as they automatically adjust to bumps while riding. I looked online and they were only offered in 13" but it lowers the bike by an inch. Progressive's site states that anything over stock height may have issues with the axle hitting the exhaust. I'm running true duals so I don't see that being a problem but now I am more than confused.

Overall, I'm looking to improve my ride as the stock Street Glide is rough. I do not want to lower the bike any more as I'm tall (6'5") and don't want to raise it either.

Any help is appreciated here. I was going to wait till next season but if I can save that much money it may be worth it.

Do yourself a favor and call Howard at Motorcycle metal, check out the Ohlins or JRI shocks, much better shock for the money. I have progressive up front, they're great, but for the rear, not the same story. JMO.

I got the Progressive 940's for my 2011 Street Glide. Really like them. Bought them on ebay from usmotoman. They were a little cheaper than eastern performance at the time.

Never mind, I'm dumb. The 940s only come in the 13". See my earlier confusion.

Progressive stuff is really nothing to write home about but there better stuff is a good improvement over the stock junk. If ya have the bucks, plan on riding much and/or just want a good ride check out the Ohlins.

940's here too in the rear and Monotubes in the front.

Would've loved to have Ohlns but I got both front and rear for the cost of Ohlns, probably not as superior of a ride, and I know you get what you pay for, butttttt.

Tis' what it Tis'.

Did the same thing. WAY better than factory HD suspension. Not disappointed that I didn't call Ohlins either! Extended warranty helped me upgrade for around 450.00 front and rear. The only thing that I don't like (just lazy) is having to adjust the preload for different weights.

To the OP, the 940's are 12" shocks not 13". 13" are the stock height of the Ultra, Classic and Limited. The Street Glide and Road Glide Custom use the shorter 12" shocks.
